The Brief
Medical storytelling has to satisfy two masters: scientific accuracy and human attention. WebMD's docu-series program needed someone who could manage complex productions across hospitals, universities, and research institutions while keeping the stories watchable.
The flagship was Treating Obesity: Confronting a New Normal, a six-part Medscape series examining the science, lifestyle, and policy behind America's obesity epidemic.
The Work
Documentary discipline: listen, frame, and pace a story that isn't scripted but has to feel inevitable.
I managed production of dozens of medical docu-series spotlighting groundbreaking medicines and research trials, coordinating multi-day shoots with colleges, hospitals, and video crews while ensuring seamless communication among all stakeholders.
I oversaw budgets and vendor contracts with strict adherence to financial targets, and contributed on set alongside editorial directors as an assistant director, gaffer, and in various other production roles. The flagship series won a Telly Award.
